There are better times for eating than others.  The best time for eating is in the morning, after you wake up and are ready to start the day. 

This is because it gives your body a boost of metabolism that it needs to get through the day as well as the opportunity to burn off any calories you consume during breakfast.  

Most Americans skip breakfast, eat a light lunch and eat a heavy dinner.  This is backwards.  The best time for eating is in the morning.  The worst time for eating is in the evening.

There is an old myth that eating certain foods before bedtime will cause nightmares.  This is not true, unless the nightmares involve getting fat.  Eating foods before bedtime, especially those high in protein, may make it difficult to fall asleep.

In addition, your metabolism level drops dramatically when you are sleeping.  If you eat a heavy meal prior to going to bed, you have no chance of burning off those excess calories.  People who want to lose weight should not eat anything after 6 pm in the evening in order to facilitate the weight loss.

Samples of a healthy breakfast include the following:

Eggs - high in protein, low in carbs.  Be careful how you cook them, though, as cooking them in butter really defeats the purpose of the diet.  Instead, make scrambled eggs in a butter substitute pan coating.  Limit the salt and add more pepper to give them flavor.  You can also add a bit of hot sauce.

Oatmeal.  Not the prepackaged instant kind, but the oatmeal that comes in container.  It takes a bit longer to cook this oatmeal, but only about five minutes.  Use quick cook oats and sweeten it with honey to give it a bit of a kick.  Oatmeal can actually lower your cholesterol, but the sugar content in instant oatmeal defeats the purpose of the diet.

Lowfat yogurt.  Eat the vanilla yogurt that is artificially sweetened and not those that contain fruits.  The low fat yogurts that contain fruit often are loaded with carbohydrates and sugars that turn to fat. 

A banana.  A banana is one of the fruits highest in carbohydrates, but by eating it in the morning, you can get all of the nutritional value and have the entire day to burn off the extra carbohydrates.  Although a banana has carbohydrates, they are complex carbohydrates and not simple carbohydrates and a banana is high in potassium. 

These are just a few ideas for a breakfast, which is the best time for eating.  For lunch, you should incorporate protein and eat a filling meal.  In the evening, try to eat late.  Salads are good in the summer, especially when it is hot.  If you can, have your dinner prior to 6 pm and take a relaxing walk in the evening before bedtime so that you can burn off the excess calories before going to sleep.

Remember, the best time for eating is the morning.  The worst time to eat is the evening.  Limit your calorie consumption in the evening and you will begin to notice a change in your weight.
